In our experience, tenants have more success in winning their demands if they collectively withhold rent. Collectively can mean within a building, an owner property portfolio, a neighborhood, a city, a metropolitan area, a state, all the way up to a global movement.
Success at acting collectively involves putting energy into building relationships, connecting and talking with neighbors, and participating in coordinated communication and action. The following public resources are available to ground in tenant organizing.
